Pat Buchanan, PhD is doing her part to transform pain and increase love in the world. Her forty-some-year clinical and academic career as an athletic trainer, physical therapist, and movement scientist took her from Boone, North Carolina to Beijing, China. Pat has been initiated into four spiritual traditions that have guided and supported her along her professional and personal life path. She uses a holistic approach to guide athletes and people of all ages and abilities struggling with physical pain and limited performance to create healthy, active, and fulfilling lives. Pat played a lot of softball and basketball growing up, first ran six miles while lost in a snowstorm, and learned to play ice hockey, albeit poorly, as a thirty-something.
