Revitalize | Reengage | Regenerate: Creating Value in Place-Making by Sam A. Shukor Architect
In Revitalize | Reengage | Regenerate, Issam (Sam) A. Shukor urges readers to rethink architecture not as static structures but as living narratives rooted in human connection, cultural identity, and emotional resonance. Drawing on his rich international experience, Shukor champions “place-making” that begins by listening to the stories ingrained in a site. Through compelling case studies and vivid storytelling, he demonstrates how integrating historical, ecological, and cultural context can foster intimacy, flexibility, and belonging in built environments. Shukor critiques trend-driven, sterile developments and instead promotes design that honors community, heritage, and meaning. This book empowers architects, planners, developers, and urban enthusiasts to adopt a human-centered design ethos—one that transforms spaces into vibrant, meaningful places that endure beyond aesthetics.
