Interview With Author Richardson George
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am married and has one son who was born 16 years after marriage, so he is considered to be a miracle child. I am a senior pastor for 30 years. I am also on the Administration of our organization’s Bible school in the capacity of Vice President for 25 years and served in the capacity of President for 9 years previously. I served in various leadership positions at the local church before becoming a senior pastor. To date I have written 9 books and is writing my 10th book.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Jesus Christ Is Real. I like apologetics and wrote a paper on the Historicity of Jesus Christ while doing my Master’s degree. I felt a leading to elaborate on that topic, do some additional research and put it in book form giving simplified for the reality of Jesus Christ to the Christian and also present a convincing argument for the consideration of the non-Christian.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
No, I hardly ever write a whole page a day but when I wrote longest book it took about 200 days of almost unbroken daily writing. I only missed 6 days of writing during that period. It is my 182 non-fiction book Living The Overcoming Life.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Books by Charles Spurgeon for style and E.M. Bounds for life transformation. I was deliberately reading the best seller, The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren while writing Living The Overcoming Life.
What are you working on now?
Jesus Christ Is God which is like a sequel to Jesus Christ Is Real
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have been using Amazon Ads and now exploring deliberately book promotion websites like Awesome Gang to see how well they work in book marketing.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
If you are planning to write a book, start writing now to capture your ideas on paper/the computer. Determine your topics for inclusion in the book to keep focus (More could be added later) and organize them later. Write regularly for ease of continuity while thoughts are fresh in your mind.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advise I ever heard is about book marketing which says, “It does not matter who you are or how good your book is, it will not sell itself.” That was in 2015 and that propelled me to begin my journey of book marketing.
What are you reading now?
A book entitled The 12 Relationship Mistakes Women Make. I said earlier that I am a pastor and saying now that our church theme for 2026 is Building Strong Relationships so I plan to read a few books on relationships and and related topics for relevance and accuracy in delivery.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I have a few books in my head that I want to write, some based on some series I preached on and also on research on topics of interest. Regarding book marketing, I am considering the use of book trailers, so researching that.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Obviously, I am a Christian pastor, so the first book in my bag will be a large print Bible because I might be stranded for a long time. I still want to read The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Pilgrim’s Progress and Power Through Prayer by E.M. Bounds considered to be the best book I read because of the transformative effect on my life.
