Interview With Author Robin Maygard
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a romantic person by nature and am fascinated by modern romance. My main hobby is cooking; I love to prepare various dishes. I always want to cook delicious and healthy meals. In my free time, I lead an active life and enjoy painting. It really helps me relieve stress. I love solving puzzles and crosswords. I have written and published 22 books.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called Renal Diet Cookbook for Beginners: 100 Easy Low-Sodium, Low-Potassium Recipes and a 30-Day Meal Plan for Kidney Health. I am a proponent of healthy living and believe that human health is the foundation of life. I love to cook and experiment with recipes and share them in my books.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Throughout the day, I keep my notebook with me and write down all my thoughts and recommendations from authoritative people. When cooking in the kitchen, I write down all the recipes, which I then analyze and include in my diet books.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I am a versatile reader, I love romance, and in my free time I enjoy solving various puzzles. As an avid food lover, I read many best-selling cookbooks.
What are you working on now?
I am passionate about Mediterranean cuisine and now have an idea to collect my experimental recipes and write a book. Everything is still in progress.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have my own author website, Bookshelf, at https://www.shopfirst.top/. On this site, I publish announcements about my books and maintain a blog. I use PPC advertising on Amazon. I really like the website https://awesomegang.com/, which helps young authors develop their skills.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Beginning authors always doubt whether they will succeed or not. You shouldn’t be afraid, you shouldn’t put it off until later, you should start right away. If there are any mistakes, you need to correct them and move on. Then everything will work out.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Tip: Writing a book is only a small part of your work. The main task is promotion, bringing your masterpiece to the reader. Therefore, you need to use various services similar to yours.
What are you reading now?
I am fascinated by modern romance and read love stories by contemporary authors. Many such books can be found on Amazon. Such books are also available on your website.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to write a contemporary novel; I already have a plot and some rough drafts.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would like to reread Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell.
I would also like to read: The Green Mile by Stephen King, and Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
