Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I studied writing at Sacramento State University under the esteemed author Richard Bankowsky, himself a student of the legendary Robert Penn Warren. I presently live and work in West Sacramento, CA. Crystal’s Ball is my first published novel
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Crystal’s Ball was inspired by the location it takes place in, Mendicino, up the northern Califirnia coastline. The romance is loosely based on some of my personal relationships
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write my first draft on yellow notepads, my second draft on a typewriter, and do not go digital till my last draft, so in this computer age I guess that would be considered odd
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Salinger, DeLillo, Dexter, Erdrich, Garcia Marquez, McMurtry; many, many others
What are you working on now?
Sequel to Crystal’s Ball entitled Tiffany’s Rules
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Get the word out to as many sites as is humanly possible
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write, write, write. Nothing like doing.; and grow a thick skin. Rejection and criticism is all part of the game. Grisham’s first book was turned down by 25 publishers.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never, ever quit: no opinion matters but your own
