Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have written only 1 book, but this book has inspired me and others(apparently) to see the world in a different perspective. I wrote this book when i lost a good friend,as a way of sipping my pain away. And it’s working, kind of๐ Amazon reviewers(70+) have liked the book, to my utter surprise. My followers too on Instagram(over 11k) https://www.instagram.com/_kihali/ have been inspirational to me
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Whispers of Death is my latest book. I lost a good friend i really liked, and it was the most painful thing i ever experienced. So I wrote this piece to help drain the pain away, and it did, while also inspiring others.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes, like wanting to write in a coffin?๐ I’ve always craved that, I tried it once and got caught. So I’ve never done it again.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Robert Frost is my best poet, followed by William Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, JK Rowling and the latest Being Rupi Kaur.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on my second book now, and i hope this new piece delivers my message to my fans. Im also working on a script that will cover a variety of issues such as the LGBTQ, women rights and depression.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Well, i love Instagram and twitter, ive got a huge following on these platforms, so i take advantage of this.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Whatever it is, just write it. Ignore all the sounds and just write!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
An advice from Robert Frost’s poem ” The Road Not Taken”. Where he says he took the road less traveled by, and that made all the difference.
What are you reading now?
Currently Im reading so many books at once๐ so many books by so many talented authors.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Well, lets wait shall we? I have so many big dreams, but i hope to start a publishing company and a magazine for Writers, especially Kenyan Writers who find it difficult to publish their works. I would like Kenyans to embrace readership.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Well i would start with JK Rowling’s Harry Potter, then Rupi kaur’s Milk and Honey, then Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad and finally Robert Frost’s ‘A boy’s will’.
