Interview With Author Rose M. Delorane
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Forgotten Realm of Secrets is my debut novel. However, throughout my life, I have always enjoyed creative writing, and have penned numerous short stories, both fiction and non fiction.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Forgotten Realm of Secrets was a project inspired by an unpublished short story. The author created a fantasy character who dreamed of adventure and self discovery. That theme is woven into my novel and told through magic and the paranormal.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Once I have proof read, edited and re-read my work, I enjoy having it read aloud. I find this helpful to capture the magic in the words and check the pacing.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have read all of the Lord of the Ring books, and found them inspirational. The works of C.S. Lewis have always been my favorites. However, I found the Harry Potter Series to be magical.
What are you working on now?
I am working on Book Two of the series plus a stand alone novel told in the POV of characters from Book One.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Read your work over and over before submitting.
