Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Immaculate Days is my first book! It is a total labor of love
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The title ofmy book is Immaculate Days. The title of the book pertains to my belief that every day is extraordinary, hence “immaculate”. Poet Francisco Catalano wrote “Nothingness, emptiness are places of enunciation the poet must respect.” I feel like my poetry is journey into the unknown parts of my own psyche. Everything is bountiful and majestic, every step is a plunge into the abyss
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I am very inspired by social media and other mass media. I easily pickup phrases and words that move me and integrate themintomy writing
What authors, or books have influenced you?
One of my all time favorite books is Approximate Man by Tristan Tzara, it is full of revealing irrealities! I am heavily influenced by language poets like John Pursch, Peter Ganick and Bruce Andrews. I am also enamored of surrealist poets like Andre Breton, Tristan Tzara, David Gascoyne and Philip Lamantia. On social media I have been very fortunate to seek out wonderful poets like Felino A. Soriano, Ric Carfagna and Christene Murray
What are you working on now?
At this point I am trying to help out other new poets! Sean Negus, Tara Lynn Hawk, Vincent Topp, Mathew Laverty and Casimir Wojciech are definitely writers to watch
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Social media has been a blessing in this regard
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write because you want to better understand yourself and the world you’re in
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
My friend Mathew Ahern wrote about me “Never the cerebral, nor the clinical, Rus Khomutoff’s work bends the reader into a subliminal frame where listless mental knots tied as words mute away in favour of more rich and substantive tele-significant verse. His poetic body signifies a telling, artful, impressionistic and intelligible beauty.”
What are you reading now?
I am always in the process of discovering new writing. I recently read Ric Carfagna’s Symphony No.1
What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to hone my writing….I want to be able to express myself freely and comprehensively
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Approximate Man by Tristan Tzara
A Novel by Andy Warhol
America by Jean Baudrillard
