Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a fantasy/young adult writer under the pen name S. P. Jordans. Born and raised in Bulgaria and currently located in Germany. I self-published my first book, The Hummingbird Effect, when I was only 18 years old. Since then I have started a new fantasy trilogy with the first book, The Crossing Pit, being out and the second one, The Frozen Abyss, coming out March 14th, 2021.
I’m planning a few new stories for the upcoming years and would love for more people to learn about them.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book, The Frozen Abyss [coming out March 14th, 2021] is the second book of a fantasy trilogy.
I first started working on this story when I was a teen and have since then transformed the world over and over again until I was please with it. I found inspiration from my own life, the strong women in it, and music. There is always music.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I make a song playlist before even writing the first sentence. I use mainly classical/instrumental music that helps me set the scene in my head.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I found influence in Amanda Quick’s books and Julie Garwood. I love their take on romance and the way they write their female leads.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on the second edition of my first book, The Hummingbird Effect.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still figuring it out, but as of now, I found all social media platforms a good start.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t be afraid to write down your fears.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
I was told to insert part of my soul in every character I create.
What are you reading now?
The Dutchess Hunt by Jennifer Haymore.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m planning on tackling more historical themes and combine them with fantasy elements. As well as possible retellings of some classics.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
This is hard!
Definitely Ravished by Amanda Quick, The Bride by Julie Garwood, and maybe some sort of Pride and Prejudice variation.
