Interview With Author S.R. Johnson
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a mother and a wife. My youngest child is autistic, and my oldest child has ADHD and anxiety. I help my mother and brother out, along with raising my children. My husband is my rock, he works two jobs, so I don’t have to stress about work. So, I have started to write in my free time and currently have two books published.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Finding Love and Keeping Love are books one and two in the Finding Love series. Finding Love is a complete rewrite of the original, which is no longer available. The original started as a fantasy about my relationship with my husband, and the rewrite is about Love, romance, domination, and submission. My fantasies came alive during the rewrite, which is why there was a second book to the series when the original book was standalone.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t believe I do
What authors, or books have influenced you?
This man series by Jodi Ellen Malpas
The Crossfire series by Sylvia Day
The Breathless series by Maya Banks
The Fixed Trilogy by Laurelin Paige
What are you working on now?
I’m working on the third and final book of the finding love series.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I post my books on social media, but other than that, I haven’t promoted any of my books.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
As one of my favorite authors has said, ‘don’t give up.’ Writing is a challenge and takes time, but if you keep writing one day, it will pay off.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Writing what you know is good advice, but the second piece that has helped me is reading the genre you write in. I read a lot of Romance novels, and I write about Romance.
What are you reading now?
I’m reading the Granite Lake Wolves by Vivian Arend
What’s next for you as a writer?
I have ideas for new books and will continue to write.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
That isn’t easy to decide. I have so many books I love but does my E-reader count as one book cause I would probably bring that?
Seriously though, I would bring either books written by Jodi Ellen Malpas or Sylvia Day.
