Interview With Author Sally Connors
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have written flash fiction, short stories, poetry and one acts. This is my first book.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I am familiar with the feeling of being in a rut. I would never have the nerve to go on a dating site myself. That’s why I like fiction. Your character can do anything you want them to. You can explore worlds and never stray from your laptop.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I am a sloooooow writer.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Bernard Malamud, John Steinbeck, William Styron, Phillipa Gregory, Ruth Ware, Ann Tyler, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Alice Munroe, John Grisham. There are a lot.
What are you working on now?
A long short story that may turn into a novella.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am a baby at this. I am learning.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
You can’t just write a book. You have to market and promote it which is a whole different skill set.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
You have as much right as anyone else to go after what you want.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
