What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Slow Burn – A Sexy Spy Thriller
I played the what if game, regarding one of my favorite TV shows, Burn Notice. I imagined if Michael Westen were a puma shifter and instead of Fiona and an ex IRA past, my hero h ad a heroine who was a witch and an empath. And a singer for a death metal band.
Former spy Derrick falls for the sexy spitfire he’s bound to protect, even as terrorists scheme to take her from him – and destroy his way of life.
Description:
Tempting secrets of an angel
Seductive mysteries of the beast
Derrick, a former spy, has been asked to protect the sultry Sonja, a death metal singer whose magical voice grabs him by the balls and won’t let go. He’ll protect her, all right…with every part of his body tight against hers.
Sonja uses her voice to purge her fans of their darkness, their hate and hopelessness. But evil forces want to use her magic for their own ends. All she wants, at this point, is safety for herself and her band.
When Derrick and Sonja team up, Sonja does her best to resist the lure of safety he represents, until a radical league that wants her dead propels her into his arms. Will his help be enough? Or will she lose her heart to him, only to be killed in the process of saving the world?
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really. I’m pretty standard. Pour my favorite drink, crank up the tunes and get to the words.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
JR Ward, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Lora Leigh, darker romance authors of that nature. Lori Foster has had some stuff that’s actually too dark for me. Surprising, I know.
What are you working on now?
The follow up to Slow Burn, tentatively titled Saint in Sinner’s Eyes. It’ll be Max’s story.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Word of Mouth. Basically, I tell everyone I can possibly think of that the book is out. I used to feel bad about this because it seems intrusive but the truth is, that i’m proud of my books, the people in my world are avid readers and if I don’t promote myself, they’ll forget “I” write also.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Get hungry, dive angry.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Knock the crap off and write.
What are you reading now?
Come Undone, Boxed Set of romance stories inspired by Duran Duran
What’s next for you as a writer?
Several short stories for a few different boxed sets. We’re looking to recapture the magic with our menage boxed set “Three Times Lucky” that had a heavy romance bent to it, so that’ll be out sooon. I think I have a story for a boxed set/anthology for Blue Remy’s Bad Boys anthology, that’ll be set in the 1920s prohibition era (also a romance) and I know there’s somethign else i”m forgetting…
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
why, Three Times Lucky, Saint in Sinner’s Eyes, and maybe Blink or Art of the Deal.
