Interview With Author Sharon A Lavy
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Conflict of Interest is my latest published novel. It is the third in the series “Sometimes you have to forgive the unforgivable.”
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have always been a writer. Writing helps me figure out life.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I joined ACFW and the members and authors there have greatly influenced me and encouraged my writing journey. I saw many authors get their first publishing contracts. Go writers!
What are you working on now?
Right after I finished Conflict of Interest I began writing Unexpected Complications. When I had roughly written the first act of the story I learned I had breast cancer. (Ironic because one of my young characters had just discovered she had breast cancer in Conflict of Interest.) I am just getting back to writing this story after fighting the aftereffects of chemo, especially brain fog.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am just getting back into the game and things have changed. Old tried and true sites have shut down and new ones have cropped up. I was happy to be referred to Awesome Gang.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing.
What are you reading now?
Her Sister’s Death by K. L. Murphy, a kindle book I received while it was free.
What’s next for you as a writer?
During this time when I was not able to concentrate on novel writing, I could still create with graphics and I created many adult coloring books,
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I don’t know. I carry my i-Pad with the kindle app everywhere I go.
