Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi, I am Shyna Jones and am 23 years old with a burning passion to be the best at whatever I put my mind into. I worked in sales for a writing instrument firm and later on changed my career to flying. I worked as a flight attendant for 2 years and quit to learn cooking. From a very young age I have been inspired by my mother who always laid a wide variety of dishes to savor on our table. I remember as a child the fun times we kids had when we played ‘family’. And I always used to play the mother who prepared the best of dishes (used to place cookies and cream) ๐ for my children (my friends, usually my cousins). Growing up I realized its not as easy as putting up cookies on a plate for ‘meals’ when we played young. I understood the pain my dad undertook in bringing me up along with my siblings and how hard my mom worked to make us glad with the fancy meals that we ate and always delighted in. I learned cooking from my mother and in the quest to make it more interesting and short without compromising flavor, nutrition or quality, I turned to the Instant Pot Pressure cooking. It’s an art anyone can master even if they have no cooking skills. I began sharing my experience using the electric pressure cooker and some of the recipes, which by the way all my friends really loved. Thus, ‘Instant Pot Pressure Cooker Cookbook: Easy Recipes and the Ultimate Guide to Fast, Delicious, and Healthy Meals’ was born and it is the only book I’ve written so far.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is inspired by my goal to create recipes that would require a minimum time and would also be a ‘Hit’ on the table, it’s called ‘Instant Pot Pressure Cooker Cookbook: Easy Recipes and the Ultimate Guide to Fast, Delicious, and Healthy Meals’ by Shyna Jones.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
No, I don’t have any unusual writing habits other than jotting down thoughts on a combination of recipe mixes to experiment and create something yummy!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
The Bible has and still is a very influential book in my life.
What are you working on now?
Well, am still trying to create great recipes and when I’m ready, I’ll come out with a new book.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Well, this is my first book and I prefer paid promotions to free because you receive more value. I don’t have a specific website or a method to promoting books. If you’ve a great, tested and high quality content and you’re happy with it, I don’t think there’s any need to break your head promoting. If people like your work and they receive value from it, they will give you honest reviews. It takes time to yield fruits of hard work.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t give up!…Keep up the good work!…Finish The Race!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Do Unto Others, What You Would Want Others to Do Unto You.”
What are you reading now?
I am reading a book on Nikola Tesla.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m still jotting down great recipes as they are being created. Hopefully, I should be out by another book next month or so.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Just one book, the BIBLE; to look upon HIM who is able to rescue me from tragedy!:-)
