About Siege at Hawthorn Lake by Paul G Buckner
Troy Turner is a writer living in a secluded cabin in the Rocky Mountains. He believes his new home in the peaceful valley, miles away from the busy resort town of Hawthorn, is the perfect setting for his work. When two of Troy’s closest friends join him on a hunting trip, they are caught in an unexpected snowstorm. Eager to reach the safety of the cabin, they are suddenly and viciously attacked by a terrifying creature they never believed existed.
Separated from his friends and badly injured, Troy tries to leave the mountain to seek help. The winter storm made the drive down the mountain treacherous, and his injuries made it even more difficult. He loses control of his Jeep on the snow-covered road and crashes. Troy is found unconscious by a snowplow driver and awakens days later in a hospital bed.
He recounts his unbelievable encounter on the mountain and desperately pleads for help for the friends he was forced to leave behind. However, the sheriff dismisses Troy’s story as a sensationalized tale aimed at gaining publicity.
When a search team uncovers the body of one of Troy’s friends and discovers that the other is missing, Troy becomes the prime suspect. How can he prove his innocence when the real killer is supposed to be a myth?

Author Bio:
Paul G Buckner is a Citizen of the Cherokee Nation, author, musician, native Oklahoman, and avid outdoorsman. The oral tradition of his Cherokee family drove him to collect folktales and stories of those he met in his travels across the U.S. Many of the stories have been passed down through several generations. It is these stories that inspire his writing. Paul grew up in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains and, as a young boy, spent many summers in the woods or on the lakes, creeks, and rivers hunting, fishing, and camping. Those experiences led to a deep respect for the outdoors, traditional ways, and the natural environment. You will see this respect reflected in his writing.
Paul is an award-winning author, and an Amazon top-selling author of the action/adventure series Hawthorn Lake and its associated short story, The Lost Gold Mine of Idaho Springs.
