Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve been writing romance and erotica since the mid-’90s. I find inspiration in Druidry, shamanism, and the occult. My writing encompasses the paranormal and the fantastic.
I currently (March 17, 2021) have two books available on Amazon, with more coming soon.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Liv and Loki. It was inspired by Norse mythology. I’m a history nerd girl and the early middle ages is a favorite period of history – think Vikings and the dark ages and I gravitate to them!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to write with a huge glass of water and a cup of coffee or tea handy.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I am such an avid reader it’s going to be difficult to answer this one! I like Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. I’m also attracted to Diana Gabaldon’s work.
What are you working on now?
I’m editing a novel tentatively called ‘In Thrall to the Viking’. The premise is about a Viking raider who takes a thrall during a raid and how their relationship grows.
I’m also starting edits on a romance set in the time of King Arthur, told from the point of view of Nimue.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I hate to say it but self-promotion has never been my strong suit. I recently took up Facebook ads and I’m looking at other options!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing, it does get better. The old adage that getting anything on paper is infinitely better than having nothing on paper is true! You can edit if you have words written.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I ever heard was “put yourself out there.” Waiting until something is “perfect” is a recipe to never release anything at all.
What are you reading now?
I’m reading Tristan and Isolde again. And, I’ve got a book about druid magic on the nightstand, as well as The Gift of Healing Herbs by Robin Rose Bennett.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Completing the edits on two novellas and beginning the editing process on a full length novel.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Oh wow. I think I would bring American Gods by Neil Gaiman, a book on survival, and Guards Guards by Terry Pratchett.
