Interview With Author Silly Turtle
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have written 4 books total. “Don’t Be Stupid: 5 Steps Any Idiot Can do – Yes, Even You” is the first under a pen name.
Outside of writing, I have a professional job, which I love because it allows me to help other people, but also gave me a dark sense of humor.
I am happily married for 15 years and look forward to the next 15. I have 6 children, all grown with 6 grandchildren.
My pet is a silly little turtle.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“Don’t Be Stupid: 5 Steps Any Idiot Can Do – Yes, Even You was inspired by a family member who asked, “Don’t you wish someone could just help stupid people stop being such idiots?”
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t usually have an outline, or not much of one. I almost always come up with a title, then write the book. I have a list of possible titles waiting to be written.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love Stephen King, but I don’t write like him.
What are you working on now?
I’m thinking of a line of “Don’t Be Stupid” books, with more specific types of stupid people.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I sell on Amazon.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just write and have fun!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“What other people think about you is non of your business.”
What are you reading now?
My spouse’s manuscript for his upcoming book
What’s next for you as a writer?
I hope to write and sell enough to keep my two publishing companies in business, and someday retire from my job.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
“How to live on a desert island”
“The Help”
“The Green Mile”
Anything by Stephen King will do.
