About Simulation Solutions by Chuck DeBusk & Andrew Ganti
For many healthcare organizations, the potential of computer simulation to enhance processes, design workflows, and improve facilities is often overlooked or underutilized. Using traditional average performance to understand patient arrivals, processes, patient flows, and treatments that involve humans instead of parts on the assembly line ignores the complexity of these dynamic processes.
Modeling & Simulation provides a powerful approach to understanding healthcare systems, predicting their behavior, and identifying opportunities for improvement. Readers will gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles, methodologies, and best practices of Modeling & Simulation in the healthcare context and will:
learn how to develop, validate, and utilize models effectively
uncover hidden insights
better understand cocomplex systems
be able to evaluate different scenarios
optiize resource allocation
enhance patient flow and make informed decisions.
The book provides real-world examples and practical tips, ensuring users can apply the
knowledge gained to address their healthcare operations and planning challenges.
Designed for a wide range of healthcare professionals and practitioners, Simulation Solutions provides the necessary knowledge and tools to harness the benefits of modeling and simulation for healthcare administrators, operations managers, planners, researchers, or consultants. If you are knowledgeable about simulation but have yet to apply it to a healthcare setting, the book provides an understanding of the nuances involved in healthcare operations.
