Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
This is my first book endeavor. I was inspired to write the book as growing up, I didn’t have many people that looked like me and was still very accepted. I want kids to have characters they can relate to and learn from.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I Like French Fries Too! This book targets kids from ages 3-6. It was inspired to allow little ones to understand and respect differences. The characters are will bring that to life. They all share food and understand about different ethnicities. Simple learning about other countries and cultures. We all share food, we all share similarities, and we all share stories. This book should bring us together as we all have something in common.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
None that I am aware of.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have been influenced by a variety of experiences and readings. Sometimes, we have to try and find our own path.
What are you working on now?
I am working on a follow-up book with same characters to teach simple conversation.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am still learning the process, but have contacted everyone I know. I am currently my best promoter.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I am still learning, but as with anything in life I say we are all continuously improving.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
So many things keep me going, but seeing others take on tackle endeavors gives me the courage to fail forward.
What are you reading now?
The story of Malala and Bossypants.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I am not sure if I can answer that question as I wasn’t even knowing I would take this endeavor.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
1. A book about disruptors.
2. A book about positive thinking.
3. A book about a world leader.
