This heartwarming coming-of-age sci-fi novel keeps you on the edge of your seat as Sam and Jade, with their small but loyal group of friends and family, battle to overcome the Visitors’ ultimatum even though it seems not just implausible but insane. Because–can they take the chance it’s not real?

Author Bio:
For a lifelong scientist, it’s strange to discover how magical novel writing can seem. Once those first characters come to life, many more are waiting where they came from, and many lives and adventures await those new characters. An author has the privilege of guiding these characters through their trials and tribulations, documenting their emotions, and deciding how they respond and grow with each setback. One of the great joys of writing novels is creating characters who fulfill the novelist’s own fantasies or experience things she has dreamed of but could not do. Even if a novelist is tied to a quiet, unexciting life, a novel’s characters can go anywhere, do anything, and have out-of-this-world adventures.
C.S. Hand’s novels are sprinkled with science—things like ecology and the future of Planet Earth, genetic engineering, the human brain and its possibilities … as well as outer space and the universe. They’re probably best classified as “soft” science fiction, and as young adult, because (so far) her main characters have been teenagers. However, she hates being bound by categories and reserves the right to create characters of any age and place them in any situation. Her major requirement is that, by the end of the book, they have survived, improved the world, and become stronger, more loving, more joyous people.
