Specialty Homicide – A Mathias Dog Show Mystery by LF Hembree
When a well-known figure in the wire fox terrier show scene is murdered at a national specialty, Maggie and Mathias jump into action to solve the crime.
This is the first time Maggie has attended a breed specialty show and it gives her an opportunity to meet people who know a lot about the breed. She also learned first-hand about the cutthroat politics she had always heard about. Determined not to let the politics color her opinion of the people she met, Maggie tried to get to know as many exhibitors and breeders as she could. To her surprise, one of them knew her from hears ago. It was the breeder of her first wire, Sammy. Of course Maggie didn’t remember the woman since she was a mere three-years-old when they met, but the breeder remembered Maggie and they spent a lot of time getting to know each other. Before the weekend was over, she even talked Maggie into taking a female puppy home to be friends with Mathias.
Despite all the activities going on during the weekend, trouble was able to seek Maggie out. When the well known figure went missing, Maggie was the one who found her — or who found her body.
Go behind the dog-show scenes as Maggie and Mathias navigate the intricate maze of personalities found at a dog show and hold tight to your seat as they help catch another killer.
