What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is titled Leading with Spirit: A CEO’s Guide to Conscious Business.
This book was inspired by my personal journey—a blend of over 23 years in business leadership and a deep-rooted spiritual practice in mudras, yoga, and mantra sadhana. Throughout my career in management, consulting, and education, I witnessed how organizations often chase profit while neglecting purpose. I felt there was a missing link between personal integrity and professional success.
Leading with Spirit was born out of that realization. It’s a guide for CEOs, entrepreneurs, and aspiring leaders who want to align their inner values with outer actions. I wrote it for those who believe that business can be both ethical and impactful, that leadership can be rooted in clarity, compassion, and consciousness.
My goal with this book is to help leaders move beyond traditional models of success and embrace a more holistic, mindful approach—one that nurtures the self, the team, and the larger community we serve.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I wouldn’t call them unusual, but my writing process is deeply rooted in spiritual discipline. Before I begin writing, I often engage in a short session of pranayama (breath control) and japa (mantra repetition) to calm the mind and center my focus. I believe that clear, purposeful writing flows best from a still and grounded state of awareness.
I also keep a journal where I note down insights that arise during meditation or while reading spiritual texts—many of these reflections eventually become seeds for chapters or themes in my books. For me, writing is not just an intellectual activity; it’s a form of sadhana (spiritual practice).
Early mornings, especially before sunrise, are my most productive hours—what yogic tradition calls the brahma muhurta. It’s when I feel most connected, clear, and creatively alive.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve been deeply influenced by a mix of spiritual teachers, ancient texts, and contemporary thought leaders. At the core, books like the Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras have shaped my worldview and continue to guide my spiritual and professional journey. The Gita, in particular, offers profound leadership wisdom that transcends time—its teachings on karma, duty, and self-awareness are at the heart of my work.
From a business and leadership perspective, I’ve drawn inspiration from authors like Stephen R. Covey (The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People) and Robin Sharma (The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari), who beautifully bridge personal growth with professional excellence.
I also find value in reading Swami Sivananda, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and Eknath Easwaran, whose writings bring clarity to spiritual concepts and make them highly applicable in daily life. Their work reminds me that inner mastery is the foundation of true outer impact—a principle I emphasize in my own books.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on a book titled The Courage Compass: Navigating Failure to Find Success. It’s a guide for individuals—especially young professionals and entrepreneurs—who face setbacks, self-doubt, or transitions and are seeking to rediscover their inner strength.
The idea is to offer both practical tools and spiritual insights to help readers embrace failure as a sacred teacher. Drawing from real-life stories, yogic philosophy, and my own experiences in business and spiritual practice, the book encourages readers to transform challenges into growth opportunities.
Alongside that, I’m also developing content for a faceless YouTube channel and an online course, focused on Gen Z empowerment, conscious leadership, and integrating spirituality into everyday living. My goal is to build a digital ecosystem that supports inner transformation and outer success.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I believe in a multi-platform approach, but the most effective method for me has been building authentic connections through LinkedIn and niche author platforms like AwesomeGang and Goodreads. LinkedIn allows me to reach professionals and spiritually inclined readers who resonate with the themes of conscious leadership, personal growth, and purpose-driven success.
I also use Amazon Author Central and Google Books to optimize my book visibility through proper metadata, categories, and regular updates. For long-term growth, I’m focusing on content marketing through blog posts, short videos, and email newsletters, all tied back to my author brand.
Additionally, I’ve found great value in networking with like-minded communities—spiritual groups, entrepreneurial forums, and education platforms, where my books can offer both inspiration and practical value.
Promotion, to me, is not just about selling—it’s about serving the right message to the right audience at the right time.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes—write from your truth and trust that your voice has value. Whether you’re writing fiction, non-fiction, or spiritual work, authenticity is what resonates most with readers. Don’t try to sound like someone else; instead, let your lived experiences, your insights, and your unique worldview shine through.
Secondly, treat writing as a discipline, not just a creative impulse. Set a regular schedule, even if it’s just 30 minutes a day. Writing consistently will build your confidence and refine your clarity.
Also, remember: your first draft doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be honest. You can shape and polish it later. But if you never start—or never finish—you’ll never share your message with the world.
Finally, understand that publishing is only half the journey. Marketing, connecting with your readers, and continuously learning are just as important. Be open to feedback, but don’t lose your core vision. The world needs more voices rooted in purpose and heart.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I’ve ever heard—and continue to live by—is:
“Align with your inner self before you lead others.”
This wisdom, rooted in spiritual tradition, reminds me that leadership, creativity, and service all begin with self-awareness. Whether in business, teaching, or writing, the clarity and energy I bring to others is only as strong as the clarity I cultivate within.
It taught me not to chase success for its own sake, but to build it on a foundation of purpose, discipline, and compassion. This advice has influenced every major decision in my life—from writing books to mentoring students and guiding leaders.
It’s simple, yet powerful: Go inward first—then move outward with intention.
What are you reading now?
Right now, I’m reading “The Heartfulness Way” by Kamlesh D. Patel (Daaji), a beautiful exploration of meditation, consciousness, and inner transformation. It’s a reminder that true change begins within—and that spiritual practice is not separate from everyday life, but deeply woven into it.
I’m also revisiting “The Bhagavad Gita”, particularly the chapters on selfless action and equanimity. Every time I read it, new layers of meaning unfold that guide both my personal journey and professional work in conscious leadership.
On the professional side, I’m exploring texts on value-based education and emerging leadership models, to continuously evolve how I teach and write—especially for Gen Z audiences and spiritually curious professionals.
What’s next for you as a writer?
As a writer, I’m entering a phase of deeper integration—where spiritual insight meets practical transformation. My next book, The Courage Compass: Navigating Failure to Find Success, is in progress. It’s aimed at helping individuals—especially Gen Z and young professionals—reframe failure as a necessary, even sacred, step on the path to growth.
Beyond that, I’m exploring digital formats—developing a faceless YouTube channel, online courses, and a podcast that extend the themes of my books into accessible, engaging content. These platforms will allow me to share my teachings on mudras, mantra sadhana, and conscious leadership with a broader, global audience.
My long-term vision is to create a body of work—books, content, tools—that helps people not just succeed, but succeed with soul.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
An autobiography of a Yogi
Who Am I from Ramana Maharishi
Sri M
Upanishads
