Interview With Author Stephen Hudler
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve been writing for about 5 years. In that time, I have written two books. I started writing because I’ve always wanted to write for Marvel Comics. That dream was never going to happen, but I still had some fascinating ideas to write about. My wife suggested I write a book instead so now I’m writing my superhero stories in novel form.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Fallout is my latest book. It is the sequel to my first book, Deadlock. I am a huge comic book fan and wanted to write superhero fiction since I was a kid.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Comic books, sci fi and fantasy have all helped to inspire me. Douglas Adams, Stephen King, Chuck Dixon and Drew Karpyshyn are just a few of the authors who have inspired me to take up writing and share my vision with the world.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on the third book in my superhero series and I’m working on starting a crime thriller set in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn’t write. Write what you love.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Just write. Edit later.
What are you reading now?
I’m reading the Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi series.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m going to expand the superhero universe I’ve created. I’d like to spin off other books about other heroes in different situations.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’d take the Stand, Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, and an older Star Wars book.
