Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi! I’m Talhí, I was born in Chile but grew up in Montréal, Canada. Hieroglyphs (Book 1) is the first part of a trilogy, and the first novel I published, but not the only book! I’m the artist and co-author behind the comic Emmanuel Just Wants to Die, and I also illustrated Le Monde dans ma Boîte à Lunch (The world in my Lunch Box), a children cookbook. I also illustrated The Avengers Pinup Calendar for several years, where you can get Captain America, Iron Man and all their guy friends in sexy poses. You can find all this on my website at www.talhibriones.com
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like writing in crowded mall foodcourts, where you can stay all day, feed off the ambient noise, eat whenever and whatever you want, and never feel like you have to leave your table for other customers.
What are you working on now?
I’m trying to decide between writing Hieroglyphs 2, drawing a children book or just starting a whole new novel..
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I promote on instagram, since I already have a following for my art.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Sit down and work.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Even if what you’re writing is bad, just write through it.
What are you reading now?
Fanfics where my two favorite characters fall in love over and over again.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Probably a dictionary of synonyms and three blank notebooks.
