Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a contemporary and paranormal romance author who has published 13 full length novels and contributed to 3 anthologies under my own name. I have also written explicit erotica under a pen name and will be releasing my first political thriller under the name Ann Nevada in 2019.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is One Magick Yule and it was inspired by my interest in spirituality, Wicca, and my love of animals.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Unusual? Aren’t all of us unusual in some way or another? I generally write in my recliner or in bed with Lifetime or Hallmark playing in the background. I don’t plan my books, the initial idea just pops in my head from somewhere or nowhere and I sit down and tell the story as it comes to me.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have been reading since I was 4, so it is really hard to say any one book or author has influenced me in any way. My parents never censored what I read, so if I wanted to pick up an adult rated book when I was a teenager, I did. I loved Harlequin, and thought to myself when I was about 18 that I could write one of those books! Then I met a wonderful man who gave me a book idea and I sat down and wrote the first two chapters of a fantasy type adventure. He read it and told me I should write books, so I did. And he continues to inspire and support me today.
What are you working on now?
I just finished writing a book in 26 days, so I thought I’d take a break. However, I am working on a political thriller called The 2nd under the pen name Ann Nevada and I am going to start work on Beneath the Magick Oak which is going to be a time travel romance. One or both of these books will release in 2019.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I like to experiment with various sites, and use my own Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as well. Up until recently, I haven’t tracked results other than watching my Amazon and Draft2Digital accounts for sales. That will change in 2019.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write. Believe in yourself. Don’t compare yourself to others. Just do it!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If you want to be a writer, just write.
What are you reading now?
The Psychic Workshop by Kim Chestney
What’s next for you as a writer?
I have set 3 goals for the upcoming year. Finish ground school and start working on obtaining my private pilot’s license, release 6 full-length novels, and travel to one place I have never been.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I can’t even begin to fathom thinking about only picking 3 or 4 books! Can I have my Kindle with a generator to charge my battery instead?
