About The Adventure of the Murdered Midwife
Before Sherlock Holmes became the world’s greatest detective, he was a boy with a brilliant mind—and a knack for trouble.
When his mother, Violette Holmes, is accused of murder, young Sherlock is determined to uncover the truth. The village midwife is found dead in the Holmes family garden, stabbed with a pitchfork just days after a heated argument with Violette. Despite the evidence against her, Sherlock refuses to believe his mother is guilty. With his keen powers of observation, he soon discovers that the weapon at the scene was not the true cause of death.
As Sherlock pieces together the mystery, his investigation leads him into the hidden tensions of village life—dangerous herbal remedies, secret rivalries, and a vengeful widower with his own dark agenda. When a series of suspicious deaths shake the village, the stakes grow even higher. But just as the truth comes into focus, Sherlock finds himself in deadly peril. With his quick thinking and the support of his family, he must outwit a ruthless killer before it’s too late.
CIBA first-place winner, “The Adventure of the Murdered Midwife” is a thrilling origin story of the legendary detective, revealing the first sparks of the genius that would one day make him famous.
