Author Bio:
Karen Brewer is a certified mother/baby nurse who worked for 23 years for a health system in the Greater Kansas City area, 20+ years in postpartum. She is passionate about her career as a registered nurse specializing in maternal/neonatal nursing, and wants the utmost care for all patients.
Her passion for teaching patients about their individualized care and the care of the baby became her inspiration for writing this book.
“Teaching patients and significant others how to care for themselves and for their baby is so important. It is probably the most important task I performed as a postpartum nurse. There’s only so much time during a patient’s hospital stay we cannot teach everything we feel they need to know. Because we can’t teach as much as we would like, I thought that writing a book would be the next best thing to do to bridge the gap— and I did just that.”
So— she has taken the time to provide a more comprehensive reference guide to help with questions or concerns you might have before— or after you are discharged from the hospital.
**Recently, the book has been revised to a 2nd Edition in 2023, with updated information, a newer and easier title to search, and a new cover design more in line with what the book is about.
