About The Buried Few by M. J. Lau
What would you do if you found a baby, buried but alive in a local park?
That’s just what happens to Daniel Allingham on his way home from work in San Francisco, 2045. In this future America, the government strictly monitors all child placements, forcing every infant to be adopted. When Daniel vacillates about surrendering the baby at a nearby hospital, he draws the attention of Detroit Gozzum, a cunning and zealous federal agent.
Forced to flee, Daniel and his ex-fiancée Renee Martinez grudgingly reunite to seek a better life for the abandoned child. With a blend of technological wizardry, theatrical flair, and sheer grit, the desperate trio struggles to reach a safe haven before Gozzum can take their freedom…and possibly their lives.
