Junior high students Alex and Kari met on a summer day and bonded instantly due to their love of their favorite band. From then on, they were inseparable, vowing to always be friends, bonded through their love of music. One cassette album, in particular, defined those memorable days.
But life intervened and sent them on separate paths.
Now, years later, Alex drives to his hometown of Graceville, Ohio to attend a reunion, fully expecting Kari will be there. Memories flood his mind of a simpler time when music was the backdrop to love, friendship, regret, and timeless dreams all set to the songs on their cassette.

Lance Lumley is a graduate of Kent State University whose writings have been in several music websites, USA Today, and local Ohio newspapers. He has also contributed to several professional wrestling books, along with music and wrestling podcasts. He has been a wrestling fan since the 1980s, a music fan since the 1970s, and a drummer in several Ohio bands through the years.
