About THE CASTLE IN THE AIR
Emma and Kit were out boating on the harbour, near Miami, and promised to be home by lunch, staying in the area. Like all best-laid plans and promises with curious children, they disobeyed, turning the boat out to sea.
They failed to notice a sudden mist appearing, surrounding the boat. To their surprise, a pirate ship appeared, and a cheerful captain (with a colourful parrot sitting on his shoulder) invited the children aboard to safety. Emma and Kit were quick to climb aboard, in search of an explanation from the captain. He reassured the children that he meant no harm, simply intending to take them on an adventure to The Castle in the Air, a wonderful land where things are not always what they seem. The fated Bermuda Triangle time warp is all set to zap the two innocent adventurers through a mysterious vortex. The story is situated in a world between worlds that want to stay hidden and keep their secrets close. Both children learn that what they see isn’t always what it seems at the mysterious Castle in the Air.

Author Bio:
Leading a lonely existence as a child had its drawbacks for Adelaide-born Jillie Collings, but, ultimately, burying herself in mystery books proved to be her saviour. After graduating with an arts degree and an unpublished book in her luggage, Jillie moved to London to seek fame, fortune and a remedy for what was (at the time) considered to be a fatal disease. While in London awaiting health test results, she became interested in Palmistry, graphology and Astrology, going on to study them. She landed her first job as an investigatory feature writer in Woman Magazine before publishing her first book.
As a graphologist, she analysed the handwriting of many famous and infamous people in the world, from Princess Di, Joan Collins and Barry Humphries, to Neilson, (a mass murderer better known as the Black Panther.) She was an avid reader, as evidenced by her home, filled with bookshelves everywhere- even in the garage. Her opinion of eBooks was black and white: “I can’t imagine ever feeling so passionate about eBooks, even if they take up less space!”
The theme for The Castle in the Air originates from a lovely old Chinese man in spirit. He said it was ‘time for children to learn that there are other dimensions beyond this world.’ Jillie is no longer with us, so her husband Ben is re-publishing The Castle in the Air in her loving memory.
