Author Bio:
Dr. Rhowela Albana Friel is a pharmacist, writer, and mom of two girls. With over 15 years of experience in healthcare—and a deeply personal journey through infertility, pregnancy loss, and two C-sections—she brings both medical knowledge and real-life heart to every page she writes.
Rhowela grew up in the Philippines, where she watched her parents care for their community through the family pharmacy. After moving to the U.S. at 13, she followed that same path, eventually leading pharmacy teams in both community and specialty care. Today, she works as a clinical pharmacist supporting public health programs that expand access to essential medications.
But it was motherhood that truly reshaped her path. After navigating fertility treatments and loss, Rhowela set out to create the kind of resource she couldn’t find—one that made the overwhelm feel lighter, the choices feel clearer, and the journey feel a little more supported.
Her books are written with warmth, clarity, and compassion—designed to help first-time moms and busy caregivers feel informed without feeling overwhelmed. Her voice is personal, never preachy; her guidance is grounded in science but always human.
When she’s not writing or working, she’s soaking up the chaos and sweetness of life with her two daughters—coffee in hand, heart wide open, and always cheering for other mamas along the way.
