Author Bio:
Norman J. Schoonebeek, pen name Norman John, has spent most of his life on Long Island. He started out as a Marine Nuclear Science major at Maritime College, NY. After having a near death experience while surfing at Ditch Plains and taking an introductory course at SUNY Stony Brook about Buddhism, changed majors to Philosophy and received a B.A. in Philosophy in 1979.
He worked in several factories helping manufacture surfboards, sail boats, medical instruments, high voltage power supplies and missile fuses used for Maverick missiles used during Desert Storm.
He traveled to churches throughout the northeast for 5 years as a Portrait Consultant and sold computer equipment retail and B2B for 10 years.
For the last 19 years he has been serving the elderly and disabled as a Paratransit Driver for Suffolk County, NY.
He has also been a part-time volunteer staff member of the Church Of Scientology of Long Island for 10 years helping Long Islanders purge toxins from their bodies as the Purification Rundown Supervisor and is training to become a Professional Class 5 Auditor.
Hobbies include photography and he is an avid computer gamer.
He is also the author of Zen N, a collection of short stories he wrote while a Philosophy major at SUNY Oneonta.
