Author Bio:
Christy Michelle Lavalais is a writer/director of sci-fi, fantasy and action short films. She recently wrote an episode of the television show Fifth Ward. She co-wrote a comedy feature One Crazy Christmas. She received her BA in Film/Video from Columbia College Chicago.
Christy’s interest in writing started when she was in the first grade. The minute she learned how to read she was reading everything she could get her hands on. She soon knew that she wanted to be a writer. For years she told stories, either oral stories she would tell at family gatherings or she would write them down and create her own little books. Once she even got her cousin, who was an artist, to illustrate a book for her.
In college Christy majored in film/video and took classes in producing, directing and screenwriting. After deciding to focus on sci-fi, fantasy and action, Christy decided to write a fantasy series about a young girl learning to own her power, this would become The Fairy Princess series.
