The Ghost of Jamie McVay by R. G. Ziemer
A supernatural sighting is the last thing on Brian’s mind as he jogs down the local trail: he’s a new kid in town, his father an out-of-work alcoholic, his new neighbor a pyromaniac bully–and now there’s this ghost! Brian and his new friend Sharon try to unravel the mystery of the Ghost of Jamie McVay, while their own lives become more complicated—at home, at school, and around the suburban community where the secrets are hidden. In the shadow of the ghost’s haunting presence, the two become closer as they struggle with the troubles of their families–alcoholism, financial woes, and the death of a loved one. Can they forestall a Halloween disaster, and finally help the Ghost of Jamie McVay find peace?
