About The Many Wars I Fought
In this gripping memoir, I invite you to witness the raw reality of army life as we, a diverse group of young men from every walk of life, were thrust into the crucible of military service on a journey that either manned you up or spat you out. The discipline, training, and experiences we endured forged a camaraderie that brought us all closer than brothers – and left us with an emptiness that nothing else could fill.
We will never forget the bravery of many who sacrificed life or limb for our country – nor the haunting memories of what we saw and did. Allow me to take you with me onto the unforgiving battlefield, where bravery and loss intertwine in a narrative that speaks volumes in our collective silence.
This is not just the story of a soldier, but a testament to the indelible mark the South African Defense Force left on those who served. We are the soldiers of the South African Defense Force. This is my part of our story.

Author Bio:
My name is Emile Wolfaardt, but most people call me Wolfy. I am a non-fiction writer living in Destin, Florida. I grew up between Cape Town and Durban, and my childhood was marked by a lot of uncertainty, especially after my parents divorced when I was six. That early sense of searching has influenced much of my writing.
I first discovered my love for storytelling back in Standard 5 at Park View Primary in Durban. I wrote a composition that my teacher liked so much, I had to read it to all the other classes. That experience lit a spark in me, and I’ve been writing ever since.
My latest book, The Many Wars I Fought, is a memoir about the time I spent in the South African Defense Force (SADF) and the challenges I had to overcome during those years. But that’s just one part of my story—I’m currently working on a broader memoir that covers the rest of my life beyond the army.
When I’m not writing, I’m working as a Public Adjuster. I travel across the U.S., helping policyholders navigate insurance claims and making sure they get what they deserve. It’s a demanding job, but it gives me a chance to meet people from all walks of life, which is a constant source of inspiration for me.
For me, writing is about connection. I believe we all share one story, and when readers pick up my work, I hope they see a reflection of their own lives in mine. My goal is to inspire people to reach higher and recognize how important their own stories are.
