Author Bio:
Gay Marie Scanlon, a graduate of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, has dabbled in a wide variety of art mediums from photography to painting.
Her writing encompasses her favorite memories and the love of family. Throughout the years, special moments have been jotted down and set aside in her notebooks, to be used to create her future stories when the time was right. It is only now that she has taken to her writing and artwork with ambition.
The inspiration for this story came from her late father, Frank J. Scherber. For many years, he would take his walks in the dark wee hours of the morning. When he returned home, he was asked who he saw along the way? “Nobody today. Just me and the moon. The moon is my Buddy!” he’d respond. Thus, the name of her first book, ’The Moon Is My Buddy.’
Her patience and calming disposition come to the forefront of her whimsy anecdotes, stories and full color illustrations. You will find her first story heartwarming and memorable.
Gay Marie Scanlon enchants the reader and the child listening to her soothing style of writing. She has a way of writing a story that encourages that much needed calm-down time each night, before falling off to sleep.
