About The Murder of Heracles: an Amazon Odyssey by J .Edward Ritchie
The Amazons are in exile. Fifteen years after the Greek legend Heracles decimated their civilization, Penthesilea (Pen) and her sisters set off on an odyssey across land and sea with one goal: revenge. Succeed, and the Amazons will be restored. Fail, and be condemned to extinction.
Bridging history and myth, The Murder of Heracles: an Amazon Odyssey (111,000 words) is grounded by an emotional core about estranged sisters bonding anew while reclaiming their power and identities…but vengeance always has a cost. After years of hardship and isolation, the company’s choices will define who they are not only as warriors but also as friends, mothers, lovers, and daughters. Many male authors stumble in this respect, so I set out to tell a story focused on women while embracing the universal experiences of humanity that connect us all regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or religion.

Author Bio:
J. Edward Ritchie loves all forms of creative escapism. Books, movies, TV, comics, and video games molded him into a Frankenstein’s monster of pop culture. He’s a big summer movie fan with a guilty (or not so guilty) addiction to action and spectacle. From superhero franchises to slasher horror to sweeping epics, a myriad of content continues to influence his work.
For ten years he pursued a career in screenwriting, earning his WGA card—a source of great pride. But after a while in the industry, it was time for a change. He and his wife relocated to the east coast where he shifted focus to novels. He currently resides in Cape Cod, MA with his wife and dogs.
