About The New Covenant
In a post-collapse world following a brutal civil war, a new Christian nation is rising from the ashes of the old America. Like the ancient children of Israel, their new nation is founded on a covenant with God. But to make this new covenant, they must first purge the wickedness of the land—through repentance if possible, blood if necessary.
Reverand Elijah Waters has no desire to shed any blood. However, as head of the Bishopric of New Atlanta, it falls upon him to conduct a public execution of several known abortionists. But the Christ he worships is a God of mercy, and he does not know how to reconcile that with the brutal justice that his new country demands he enforce.
Meanwhile, Captain Joshua Hatley of the Confederate militia wants nothing more than to see the abortionists dead. His life and family were shattered by the war, and the last thing he wants is for some squishy, flip-flopping politician to throw away his sacrifice to make this new nation rise from the ashes of the old.
As justice and mercy clash in this all-too possible future, whose vision of America will triumph, and who will miss the America that was?
