About The Red Ball: A Story of Friendship and Forgiveness by Healey E. Ikerd
Most people want to know how to be a person who shares love and kindness. Healey E. Ikerd, a Licensed Professional Counselor and lover of Jesus, teaches us that our decisions can help us be the person that God has called us to be.
The story highlights the adventure of a young girl named Renate (Ra-Nah-Tah) who experiences betrayal by a friend and then learns about anger and forgiveness. Readers will relate to her feelings of unfairness and feeling justified in being angry. Children will see that what God asks of them helps them be exactly the kind of person they want to be anyway! Renate’s decision to love proves also to have a profound effect on others around her.
The Red Ball is an inspiring picture book for readers, ages 6 to 10. It was inspired by a true story of Renate who grew up in East Germany in the 1940’s.
