Abhilash Franncis is an Indian storyteller whose creative journey spans the worlds of film, advertising, and now literature. For over 20 years, he has worked behind the scenes of celebrated movies and impactful ad campaigns, shaping narratives that resonate deeply with audiences. A former assistant and associate director in the Malayalam and Tamil film industries, Franncis honed his craft by collaborating on films known for their emotional depth and visual richness.
His much-anticipated literary debut, The Twins and Me, is a natural extension of his cinematic sensibility—infusing prose with rhythm, mood, and visual texture. At its core, the novel is a story of memory, identity, and belonging, themes Franncis explores with empathy and insight drawn from a lifetime of listening, observing, and imagining.
Off the page and screen, Abhilash is a self-professed tea connoisseur and weekend gardener who finds joy in tending to his herb patch. He’s also an amateur flautist, a chess enthusiast, and a firm believer in the healing power of long monsoon walks. When he’s not working on his next story, he enjoys sketching strangers in cafés and binge-watching obscure documentaries about lost civilizations. Abhilash currently divides his time between Kerala and Melbourne, where he continues to explore the intersections of art, identity, and storytelling.
