About The Yukon Wolf
In the mountains of northwestern Canada along the Yukon River, there live a family of wolves. A young female wolf named Arnaaluk has been trained her whole life by her father, Payuk to hunt caribou. After scoring her first kill, she is not satisfied. She desires not only independence from her overbearing father, but to seek the love of her life. She crosses paths with two brothers: Tulok, a domineering but strong and highly intelligent hunter, and Kanak, a haughty and selfish subordinate. After Arnaaluk is expelled from the family for disobedience, the two brothers develop a romantic rivalry over her.
When tragedy strikes, Arnaaluk is called home to her family and it is up to her and the wolf she chooses as her mate to bring unity to the clan of Payuk and help them survive through a harsh winter. Not only do enemy wolves, the threat of starvation and a shortage of caribou threaten their survival, but also the greatest danger of all – man and his traps and guns.
