Author Bio:
Leo Sergio is an author, explorer of labyrinths of human consciousness, winner of multiple literary contests.
I have dedicated over ten years to studying personal growth and motivation. At some point, I felt that the knowledge I accumulated was longing to break free into the world. That’s when I set myself the goal of sharing my research and the most valuable life lessons. The knowledge has helped me, and there is no doubt that it can help others too. All I had to do was find a way to get across the information to those who really needed it. After a thorough and lengthy search, I realized that the answer was always right in front of me — books! Instantly, everything fell into place — I had the knowledge I wanted to share, and I can and love to write — writing is my hobby. The pursuit of getting closer to my readers has led me to Amazon.
Where It All Began
When I was a toddler, a bookcase fell on me. It’s true, ask my parents. I was only three years old. My mother worked as a librarian and devoted twenty years to this cause. So, I can say that I grew up in a library.
Back then, I was crazy about counting, so I decided to count the shelves. Thank God they were empty, without books, just covered in dust. I counted as much as I could with my hands, and then I decided to climb up to count further. That was my mistake. The bookcase was not stable and fell to the floor with me on it…
Against all odds, I survived. Loss of consciousness, concussion, swelling of the face, I walked for a month swaying, as if drunk. And now, if I get all worked up, my left eye twitches.
Did it affect my future?
You bet it did! I believe this experience to be the starting point of all the discoveries and miracles that happened to me in adulthood. First, it happened in the library, and that bookcase instilled in me a thirst for exploration of the unknown. It was in the books that I found answers to questions that could not be found elsewhere. It was the books that became the clay that shaped my worldview. However, the impetus for this was a wooden bookcase that happened to land on me in the library.
Secondly, severe brain injuries do not go unnoticed. A person with such an injury will never be the same. It changes you. Who would I be without that bookcase? No one knows. But without that experience, I probably would not write books, and I definitely would not explore the inner recesses of human consciousness. Of that I am sure.
So, I concluded — if bookcases fall on heads, it means there is someone who needs it! This experience and the desire to share my knowledge and expertise pushed me to help others through the power of the written word.
