Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a multi published author and I have published through several publishing houses. My books have won a few awards, one of the most notable being the ARE best of 2009 award. I’ve written a LOT of books. I think my count is somewhere around 110, but I haven’t been keeping track. You’d have to ask my webmaster that question, as he’d the one who adds the book pages to my website. LOL
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I just completed Tempting the Bears. It’s a highland bears series. The inspiration for it was the trip we made to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula last summer.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
When I’m tired and have been writing a lot, I tend to write in my sleep. Meaning, my fingers are pressing keys on the keyboard while I’m sleeping. One time, I actually wrote a scene that I dreamed. I wish I could do that all the time. Imagine the writing I could get done!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Christine Feehan, S.E. Smith, Lyndsay Sands, Katie McAllister all have played a roll in getting me to write. I’ve noticed I write darker after reading Ms. Feehan’s work and I tend to write lighter, fun stories after reading the others.
What are you working on now?
Book 3 in the Zolon Warrior series is my new project. It should release soon in Kindle Worlds.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I haven’t used much other than Facebook, twitter, and Amazon, to tell the truth. After a few years of writer’s block and not writing much, I really need to get back into the swing of things and see what’s out there now.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. Even when the world gets you down, try to write a little every day. The rejections are nothing. Keep working on your manuscript and perfecting your craft and one day they will call.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Keep writing. You’re a writer. What will you do if you stop, bake cookies?”
What are you reading now?
I’m rereading something by Evangeline Anderson. I love her Kindred series.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I hope to have a Kindle Unlimited release. I’m not sure when that will happen, though. I hope it will be sometime this year.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I don’t think I could choose just three or four. What about my Kindle and Nook with a solar charger? That’s only two book sized items and the charger. See, I can pack light after all.
