Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Loving Tiara is my first book. I’m a law school graduate but I stayed at home to care for my three girls, one of which had serious special needs. Caring for Tiara was my great life accomplishment. While caring for her I started a blog, tiffani goff at home, that I still continue to write. I’m an interior decorator, chronic volunteer and need to be busy at all times or I get depressed. I’ve been married to my husband Lou for 28 years. Tabitha, our oldest daughter is 27 and our youngest daughter, Trinity is a senior in high school. I eat super healthy 90% of the time and the other 10% you will find me consuming donuts, cookies or cupcakes. I love gardening, home improvement, my family and dogs.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I wrote Loving Tiara in honor of my 50th birthday. I had been talking about writing a memoir for years and had never sat down and done it. As my birthday approached, I realized it would be the perfect gift to myself and Tiara to commemorate being half a century old. So I finally took the plunge or rather plopped my butt down at my desk and started writing. My goal was to have it self-published on October 27 in honor of Tiara’s 21st birthday, but I had to revise my time table for the sake of the book. I needed three more weeks for editing, and I published it on November 20, 21019. It took me nine months to complete because I often worked twelve hour days. Once I start a project, I become obsessed, which is why I was able to finish so quickly. I’m proud of the final product, and I hope you enjoy reading Loving Tiara.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t have any unusual writing habits. When I wrote my book I set a deadline for myself so I would need to write ten or more hours a day.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I don’t consider myself an actual author but more of a communicator who puts their thoughts onto paper. That being said I like books that make me think, make my laugh or allow me to tune out of life. I choose my books based on my mood.
What are you working on now?
Keeping my blog updated, promoting my book and starting a fiction book which is loosely related to my life growing up in Newport Beach, CA.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I wish I could share what has been helpful but I’m still struggling to find my way.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t give up, set deadlines, and stay true to you. Listen to others advice but if it doesn’t seem like a good fit for you, trust your intuition.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Treat others as you want to be treated and live each day as if it was your last.
What are you reading now?
This Won’t End Well by Camille Pagan, a funny story that makes me laugh.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Just keep writing and moving forward.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bible, Jesus Calling and a reference book on how to survive on a desert island.
