Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I write spicy romance novels with a twist fantasy. I am currently writing book four in my first series entitled “The Soulmate Call Series.” My first book started as a one and done, and before I knew it, it had grown into at least ten books.
I am a mother of four and have been married to my soulmate for over twenty years. I love writing and finally found the courage to publish my stories. I love fantasy and paranormal. Yet my favorite stories include “The Princess Bride” and “Wuthering Heights.”
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Book Four in “The Soulmate Call Series,” is titled “The Soulmate Healing.” Book Two in the series began the inspiration for this book. I knew while writing it this book would come out of it. Anymore information, and I would divulge spoilers.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
What is considered an unusual writing habit? I like to write with music or a movie in the background. If there is someone similar in appearance to the characters I am writing, I like to have a visual for inspiration.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
My biggest influence comes from Quinn Loftis, watching her live her dreams as a wife, mother, and author gave me the courage to make my dreams a reality. Plus, some of her writing inspired mine.
My most recent influence is from a new friend and fellow author, Julie Cannings. We exchange ideas and thoughts daily, as we encourage one another to pursue our passion.
What are you working on now?
I am working on Book Four in my fantasy romance series, as well as avidly promoting Book One. Once Book One takes off, the rest will follow with fans.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I primarily focus on my promotions on Facebook, Instagram, and Goodreads. I have a website, but I don’t believe it has received much traffic.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Whether you win or lose as a writer, you will never find more joy than when you put the words to paper.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
I have yet to receive any advice as a writer that I would consider the best advice. The best advice I ever received in life inspires my writing, “Love is not a feeling, it is a decision.” My grandmother always told me this, and it inspires my daily living and the end result for my characters.
What are you reading now?
I am reading more than one book right now.
“To Kill a Mocking Bird” by Harper Lee
“Body Politic” by Glyn J. Godwin
“The Total Money Makeover” by Dave Ramsey
“#GraceMade My Journey to Love, Joy & Healing” by Sade Champagne (I will finish tonight)
What’s next for you as a writer?
I am searching for someone to put music and a voice to the song in Book Two. I plan to travel to visit family members soon to interview for a novel loosely based on my late grandparents’ love story. I will continue on the path I am on, hoping to reach readers.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
My first thought was to bring my books. If my books aren’t an option, I would bring “Wuthering Heights” by Emily Bronte, “#GraceMade My Journey to Love, Joy & Healing” by Sade Champagne, “Call Me Crazy” by Quinn Loftis (because it’s her only standalone).
