About Uncle Ebenezer’s Christmas Carol by David Alberts
Uncle Ebenezer’s Christmas Carol is a fresh and innovative retelling of Charles Dickens’ timeless holiday classic A Christmas Carol, featuring humorous and insightful commentary by none other than Ebenezer Scrooge himself! This cleverly reimagined version of Dickens’ beloved Christmas story offers readers an opportunity to see Ebenezer Scrooge’s personal journey from “Bah! Humbug” old miser to benevolent “Uncle Ebenezer” through the eyes of the man who lived it.
Ebenezer Scrooge—now a “changed man” as a result of the transformative events of that long-ago Christmas Eve—reflects on his early life, his partnership with Jacob Marley (and answers the question “How did Marley die?”), his clerk Bob Cratchit and little Tiny Tim, the heart-breaking loss of his one true love, his meetings with Charles Dickens (“Who never gave me a penny for the story—my story”), and the lessons he learned about the true meaning of Christmas from the Spirits of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and “the most fearsome of all the Spirits,” Christmas Yet to Come.
“Uncle Ebenezer’s Christmas Carol is perfect reading for the holiday season—or at any time of the year—for fans of the original Dickens story and anyone who enjoys sharp-witted commentary with their classic literature.”
