Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m Veronica Hislop, a soon-to-be bestselling author.
Why do I say this, you may ask?
With three books under my belt, I’m now focusing on marketing and promoting them. A State of P.L.A.Y.S being the first. Understanding Grief Coping with Loss is soon to be published, as well as Adianna and Toad, a children’s book that will be published under my pen name of Cc Wellington.
Writing isn’t just my passion; it’s my way of sharing valuable tools, information, and resources.
My books fall primarily within the self-help genre, drawing from my background as a social worker, trauma counselor, and life relationship coach. I delve into themes of resilience, personal growth, and self-empowerment. I aim to provoke thought and emotion through my writing while equipping people with different tools and resources that can help them take action and step into their power. Your feedback is invaluable to me as it guides my journey as a writer and servant to my readers and followers.
A devout “Cat Mom, ” when not writing you can find me listening to Jazz, or walking the beautiful trails of Brampton Ontario, where I now live.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
A State of P.L.A.Y.S: HOW TO HAVE THOSE DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS WITHOUT LOSING YOUR MIND
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
YES I love to write my own books and I hate Ghost Writers.
I dream of the day when I write my first non-fiction book – probably a murder mystery.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I stick to the self-help genre. I do enjoy a well-written book with a good story.
What are you working on now?
I am working on a my first children’s book under my pen name Cc Wellington. Adianna and the Toad: A Story of Growing up and Letting Go. The themes are Being Kind to Yourself; Understanding Friendships; Making Your Own Boundaries; The Power of Saying ‘No’; Believing in Yourself.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Learn as much as you can about marketing and promoting your book.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
As soon as you can get a virtual assistant to help you do the things you are not good at so you are able to focus on the things you are good at and like to do.
What are you reading now?
I am too busy reading other people’s books and writing reviews.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Publish my children’s book. Finish writing and pulling together my other book Understanding Grief Coping with Loss – the goal is to have a book launch with all three of my books before the holiday season starts.
