Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a Storyteller of fictional drama mystery suspense thrillers. I have written so far three (3) novels. I came from a large family. I have six (6) sisters three (3) brothers, and Daddy died when I was five months on this planet called Earth. Mother was left with ten (10) children to care for, and we were what they called in those days, Dirt Poor, but to the goodwill of others, neighbors, family, and friends we all survived quite well. I suffered Tuberculosis at age six, hospitalized four months. Back then it was like being in a haunted hospital. Children of all ages were screaming for their mommies and daddies. I discovered why that was when they came for me, strapped me down to feed tubes through my nasal passage, down my esophagus into my lungs to draw out what fluid and mucus would drown me eventually. At age nine I woke paralyzed with polio and hospitalized having to have a spinal cord injection, which may cripple me for life or perhaps not. Thank goodness the latter was my fate. Ups and downs followed me around. I was somewhat of a nomad in my younger years, late teens through my twenties. And I met a lot of people in my travels. I experienced a lot of strange behavioral patterns in myself and others. I have been to the dark side. Astro traveling is real. One time, unintentionally, it happened. It was very strange and scary. An experience I do not care to experience again. I have seen strange things. Yes, ghosts, apparitions, spirits, angels, devils, whatever they were, lasted perhaps moments in time but sticks with you forever. I tell tall tales, and no, none of the above is a tall tale, but fact, truth and simple, and who believes, believes, who does not, well, does not. I am now entering the third act play in my existence. I hope it will prove to be worth all I have thus far experienced as a human born of this realm, on this round surface which hangs out in the Universe mysteriously. My goal is and has always been to get my stories into the film industry, to give my characters life through humans acting out as my characters in what we perceive; real life.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Hellen Back. The inspiration comes from a place I have no thought. An idea comes from many aspects of all things, perhaps a day ago, a month ago, or years. Ideas come and go, but it is when I sit down and begin to tell my story that the characters tell their own tale. I just get lost inside there and hope for the best.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I do not know of any.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Well, not an author, but a great director. Mr. Alfred Hitchcock is, was, and always will be to me, one of the greats who developed far beyond his time. King is a most desirable author with a mind all his own. Koontz has a style I like very much. Christie is dark in her thoughts, whipping together characters and plots of well deserving. So many for so many reasons.
What are you working on now?
Getting myself established for one thing. I usually find myself glued to a story during the winter months when my mind is less apt to be filled with sunshine, pools, outdoor barbecues. Winter is solace to me with the cold drafts heightening my mood to a level of better understanding myself.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
All and any I can possibly get promoted within cost.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
write.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
To be who you are meant to be and not to let anyone say otherwise.
What are you reading now?
Nothing at the moment.
What’s next for you as a writer?
To tell stories until I cannot tell them anymore.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
My three, and most likely my favorite… Dolores Claiborne
