What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my latest book is 101 Essentials for Every Young Female Athlete. This book was inspired by my own journey as a Division 1 softball player and my experiences playing professionally overseas. Throughout my career, I saw firsthand the challenges young female athletes face—both on and off the field. I wanted to create a resource that not only provides practical tips but also empowers young girls to develop confidence, resilience, and a strong mindset. My goal is to help the next generation of athletes reach their full potential by equipping them with the knowledge and tools I wish I had when I was younger.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not that I am aware of
What authors, or books have influenced you?
What are you working on now?
Right now, I’m working on expanding my impact in the world of female athletics through both writing and coaching. I’m developing a journal with writing prompts designed specifically for softball players, helping them build confidence, set goals, and reflect on their growth. I’m also working on an interactive workbook focused on the softball mindset, aimed at helping young female athletes develop mental toughness and resilience. Beyond that, I continue to coach and mentor players, using my experience as a former Division 1 and professional athlete to guide the next generation.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I ever heard is, “Control the controllables.” As an athlete, there are so many things outside of your control—weather, umpires, opponents, even your playing time. But what you can control is your attitude, effort, and preparation. This mindset helped me stay focused and resilient throughout my career, and it’s something I now pass on to the young athletes I coach. Learning to let go of what you can’t change and maximize what you can is a game-changer, both in sports and in life.
