Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Wayne discovered his love for writing at ten years old when he wrote a story about the flowers from his bed sheets coming to life. With a voracious appetite for science-fiction and fantasy, it was only natural he turned his pen toward these genres, creating bold new worlds filled with exciting, interesting characters doing incredible things.
In addition to reading and writing science fiction and fantasy, Wayne enjoys spending time with his incredible family, walking, helping other aspiring authors, and remaining active in his community. His latest favourite TV show is Grimm, and if you play one of the latest Marvel Universe movies there’s a good chance he’ll stop what he’s doing to watch.
A Brooklyn native, Wayne currently lives in Northeastern Pennsylvania with his family and five cats, realizing his dreams one story at a time. He’d love to hear from you at WayneMeyers.com, where you can find his social media links and sign up for his mailing list.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I just self published VISITOR, a science fiction space opera style novel inspired by a vivid dream I had as a teenager.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not sure what constitutes “unusual” but I write whenever I can.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Many of the old time science fiction and fantasy authors I grew up with, such as Isaac Asimov, Tolkien, and Terry Pratchett.
What are you working on now?
Just finished my next book, a high fantasy story called, MYTHIKAL MAGIK.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never give up! Writing is a very challenging activity, but well worth the effort. Write as much as you can, critique other writers to help your own, and read as many books as you have time for.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write first, edit later.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Writing more books, perhaps a sequel to VISITOR.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
This is a question I find too hard to answer.
